Foodie Friday

Has anyone else been doing the 30 Days of Encouraging Your Husband from Revive Our Hearts? I love it. If you haven't started, start now. No matter what happens, press on to encourage every day. I have been writing my husband a note each day and leaving them around the house. Today, I decided to step it up a notch and for no reason at all I surprised my husband by bringing him hot wings in the middle of the day. You would have thought I gave the man a new car. My grandmother always said that there were two paths to a man's heart. Food is obviously a sixth love language for him. The thing I have been questioning is what I will do when the thirty days are over. I thought, what if I just began again? What if I did this every day for the rest of my life? What if every day he had a note waiting from me? Would it change how he felt about himself? His work? Check back in fifty years and I'll let you know.
How are you loving on your man today?

On a family note, I had myself a good cry about how blessed I am the other day. One of our extended family members has a six week old baby and they just found out that he has stage four cancer. After my mom told me this, I stared at my three month old and I was overwhelmed by her beauty. I kept telling her how striking I thought she was. Both of our girls are exceptional, smart, happy, and healthy. I am so thankful. It really puts it all into perspective, doesn't it? The things we complain about are so trivial in comparison. Take a minute to say deep prayers of thanks to God for your family today (no matter how you are feeling). God is good to us. He sustains us with rich things. What are you thankful for?
Love what you got.

I have not heard of this 30 Day Challenge! I signed myself up for the emails. I am excited! I am not the best about being intentional about showing Justin how much I love him and/or do things to encourage him. You writing about this also could not have come at a more perfect time... next week I am going to start meeting with a woman who is in desperate need of accountability, and for a radical change in the way she views her relationship with her husband. I have been praying about ways I could encourage her to nurture their relationship and this challenge will be perfect.... for the both of us! Thank you Stephanie! Your blog always encourages me and inspires me.
