Terribly Interesting

 We were approached a while back to plant a contemporary service in the church up the street from our house. Seeing Easter coming up, we decided to try a preview service that day. Denbigh ended up preaching two services that day. The first was a sunrise service at 7 a.m. and the next at 11. There were around fifty in attendance. There are generally between 4 and 8 people who attend the local church and about 290 people in the town. The discussion that Denbigh's sermon prompted was amazing. I wish I could blog about all that happened. Ask me about it. Pray for us about when we are supposed to permanently begin a church and the funding to do so. Thank you. I hope your Easter was blessed. Between working on a top secret project and preparing for our preview service at the country church up the street, nothing has gotten done at our house this week. We've been plenty busy, but you can't see any of it. I am ready for the top secret project to be done so that we can unveil it to our viewing public.  I really enjoy the website texasescapes.com. It tells you information about every town in Texas. I have taken my husband to some kooky towns to see some kooky stuff. You should try it. I even found a town for sale once. I digress. Over the past few years I started wondering if we were fooling ourselves with all of the good works we do in church. This is going to sound completely offensive, but I was wondering if we were just running in circles trying to entertain middle class white people. I really began asking the Lord if we were glorifying Him or just saturating ourselves with more hording . Can you horde scripture about how God wants you to be fulfilled? It seems that most everything I hear is about us. What about the rest of the gospel? I came across a quote recently in The Hole in Our Gospel : "We have gone from being fishers of men to being keepers of the aquarium." - Paul Harvey I just sat there with the Lord and asked if He would remove anything that made keeping the aquarium alluring.
