The Princess and the Pitch Pipe

This post really has nothing to do with a princess or a pitch pipe. As my daughter and I were picking up the other day I noticed that she had a pitch pipe in a box of dress up clothes for a princess doll. It made me laugh and I thought it would be a good title for something.

I have learned a few things in studying about Hosea. Mostly, I think we try to blame physical things, such as alcohol and emotions, for our sinful state. The truth I learned is that the problem does not lie with the alcohol or how much of it our ancestors consumed. The problem isn't about bitterness or worshipping false idols. The problem is with the heart. We have turned our hearts away from the grace of the most glorious lover anyone could ever behold. We have said no to love. Some of us have replaced it with legalistic "I will never do what the previous generations of my family have done." Some of us have imbibed. Some have blamed society. The problem lies with us. We must choose to love our Heavenly Father. We must choose Him as our husband. We, the people of God, must cry out to Him if we desire others to be healed.

As I sit and look at current events, I am deeply saddened. It would be easy to get caught up in the idea that America at large must repent. 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us that this is in OUR hands. God tells us that if WE, not pagan America, humble OURselves and pray that God will heal our land. I am praying for an extra dose of humility for my brothers and sisters in Christ tonight. May we do our part and lay aside the arrogance that easily entangles as we return to God. If WE return to God, He tells us He will heal the suffering and the broken around us. Perhaps, if WE repent from OUR wicked ways, many of the people we blame for the problem would come to repentance.

Please keep praying for me as I am writing the book on Hosea.

Justin and I were just talking about the some of the law and how important it is to understand God's design and parameters for life. I was getting legalistic saying maybe I would have chosen better. Then Justin says, Soloman the wisest man ever to live, turned his heart away from the Lord, so there is definatley more needed then knowledge, we have weak hearts. I enjoyed the post.

Alright, baby photo below. Quit emailing me! ;-) I remember having a writer's callous when I was five years old. In my adolescence I hated it. Now, I find it fascinating. Almost as long as I have been alive I have borne a mark that declares I am passionate about something in such a way that it bores into my skin. David Crowder's House Restoration

A recent edition of Waco Today featured David Crowder's six year renovation project(we had to go check it out). I said a quiet prayer that God would let our house be completed before six years was up for us and then I dove in to the details. David and his wife bought the home of the man who invented Dr. Pepper. It is encouraging to see something that took so much effort and energy come to completion. May we soon see the same thing. Gomer: The Inspiration Board

I saw this thing on HGTV once. People would look at these mega-money "inspiration rooms" and try to copy them on a thin budget. I decided I would copy this idea and begin to put inspiration points around the house. My first point is an inspiration board on the front of our house. Much of the paint on the front of the house has been scraped off. So I took it upon myself to sand a whole board down and prime it. She is a beauty. Now, people will be inspired from miles around and flock here due to the inspiration of this one bright white board. At the very least, it has inspired me to want to paint another one.  We had a lovely time of worship here on Sunday at our first night of House Church. The Holy Spirit was so tender with us as He led our hearts to repentance and praise. I am thankful for those the Lord brought here that night to sit in a simple place in a simple way to worship Jesus.
