Laomai is Two

Our daughter is two. I am not really sure what to do with this realization. We are beyond blessed by her in our lives and I am continually thanking God for sharing her with us. We are praying a blessed year ahead. May she continually grow in godliness and love. Please take a moment to pray for this little girl.

Laomai trivia: There are so many things we love about her. She firmly believes that she is a princess. She can walk in my four inch heels easily. She absolutely loves to pray and somehow she picked up that the Holy Spirit helps us. She is reading. She puts herself to sleep by singing the Doxology. Laomai loves people!! All of these funny little things make me laugh. She is unique and special just like Every child God created.
We are thankful to share in her life.

Last week I challenged the ladies at Shiloh to speak kind words for the rest of the month. Someone was gossiping to me before the night was over. I had to laugh. It was a good reminder that I can talk all I want, but only God can change hearts. Do you ever feel like there are people strategically placed around you that dispel light? They are always negative, always complaining, always comparing (their kids especially)? Do you think they realize it? Do you realize it when you are being negative? Do you truly understand what gossip is? If you are irritated with people, tell them. Don't tell other people who are not part of the solution.

Proverbs 29:11 (NLT)

 Fools vent their anger,
but the wise quietly hold it back.

Try speaking kind words. Let go of jealousy. Don't compare. Even comparing children is judgmental. Let go. Love and show kindness.

Great post and love the pictures!

I've been trying to really work on these things you've been talking about in regards to what comes out of our mouths. A quick, thoughtless remark can do so much damage. It reminds me of a song my mom used to sing to us when we were kids... "Keep your tongue from evil, keep your tongue... and your lips from speaking lies..keep your tongue from evil!" Then she would tell us to hold our tongues with our fingers and sing the song again.
first of all, I can't believe she's two. Amazing!

Second, God has been speaking to me over and over the last few weeks about the tongue. How can a "simple" prayer request so easily turn into gossip? Great challenge, Steph. I'm going to take it on!

She is a Princess...how could there be doubt about that.

Thank you for the challenge! So much easier to see the fault in others than it is to actually look inside but in order to go deeper still, we must. And when we find that thing that needs God's repair and restoration, we must give over to His work with wholeheartedness. Although the process may be painful and long, the benefit will be freedom.
