A Little Touch of Random

Image
"E very great cilvilization that has failed progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependence; and from dependence back to bondage. At what point is America in this cycle?" -David Jeremiah

Forty Days of Kindness-Day 40

It is Day 40! My goal is to leave 40 different notes around all of the places we go today. Will the random acts of kindness end here? I don't think so. Stay tuned. God's kindness leads us to repentance . Romans 2:4

I found these cute collapsible vases on the dollar isle at Target. They are flat plastic until you fill them with water (easy to sneak them in your purse). Wait for an opportune moment. Sneak in wildflowers. Add water from water bottle. Leave note declaring God's lavish love. Run off! God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4

Today I registered at graceepidemic.com. You sign up. Make a new grace card. Meet someone's need and give them the card. They pay it forward. This web site is tracking how far reaching this effort is getting. Check it out. I know who I am going to help.  Is there someone God is pointing out to you? God's kindness leads us to repentance . Romans 2:4

Today, I cleaned out my closet to help people who will never know I did it.  God's kindness leads us to repentance . Romans 2:4

I have been reading a few random kindness blogs of late and one made me laugh. It said, "it's not re-gifting if you don't know the person." We all get tons of things that are not right for us, but someone else might fall head over heels in love with it. I suggest leaving it anonymously for them with a note that declares God's love! Don't ask me what I am leaving or who gave it to me. I'll never tell.  God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2: 4

Send anonymous ecards! I went through my email address book and picked out some people that I am not sure I even know and sent them a card from DaySpring.com. Instead of putting my name and email address in the required spaces, I made up something witty. Try it out for yourself. God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2: 4

You can gift music from iTunes by sending an email or by printing a gift certificate. For 99 cents you can make someone's day. If you print a certificate, you can choose not to put your name on it and anonymously commit a random act of kindness. Drop one in the mail with a note and don't sign it.  God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2 : 4

Tonight, the Denbigh and I hit the dollar isle at Target. I found sevral cute things to sneak on to people's porches. The first is a tiny grow pot filled with seeds. Lovely. Pair it with a note declaring God's love. Perfection. ~ God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4

Today I had a most unusual experience. I attended an estate sale that featured all of my grandparents household treasures. I cannot even begin to tell you how emotional this was for me. How strange to see your loved ones' belongings in a catalogue. I seemed to get more and more emotional as the bidding went on. I am glad it is over. The house was so full of life and now it lies empty. ~ I took this opportunity to sneak some notes into some items being bought. I'm terribly sneaky. One of them my husband bought. I wonder if he will find it. I also left some notes at a local jewelry store next to some displays. The fun continues. ~ God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4

Tonight, I enlisted Denbigh to help me with the kindness today. I thought I might be being selfish keeping my kindness to just the ladies. Denbigh went into the restroom at a Mexican Restaurant . Over the urinal in this particular place there were sports pages placed behind glass. He stuck a note on them that read, "You're a good dad." I laughed after he had done it. I wrote the pink post-it in my overtly neat and feminine hand writing. I thought of guys standing there wondering what women had busted into the men's restroom to leave this unusual note. Fun times. God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4

What if you sat down in your church and, instead of finding the church promotional pen, you found a reminder that God loves you? I switched out some pens today. Wild, I know. I am on the lookout for where I can sneak some pencils in. Let me know if you think of something brilliant. God's kindness leads us to repentance . Romans 2:4

Today is somewhat surreal to me. In 2002 I started a class on the Bible that is seven years long. I thought that was ridiculous at the time, but here I am. I have arrived at my very last class day. In honor of that, I decided to leave notes every where I went.  "Press on." May your faith propel you into a wild future. God's kindness leads us to repentance . Romans 2:4

I'd like to interrupt this Forty Days of Kindness and ask that you do a kindness for me and my two year old. Our besties are sick. Could you take a minute to pray for them right now? Kristi is headed to MD Anderson tomorrow to start her journey of conquering lymphoma. Sophia is having some health issues and will be tested for Cystic Fibrosis next Tuesday. Please pray healing and provision for them. May God be glorified in both of these things beyond what we could ask or imagine. Our regularly scheduled program will resume tomorrow .

I found this woman in the Philippines who is trying to get donations of pencils. She is trying to get the children a simple thing to use for school there. Want to join me in her effort? Send your pencils to: PENS OF HOPE P.O. Box 16 Post Office, Bgy. Dalakit, Catarman Northern Samar 6400 God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2 : 4

Today, I left these cute encouraging notes that I got at Starbucks. On the outside they say,  "Bloom." I also left some notes at the local pool and some jewelry for a non-blogging friend anonymously.  Do you have this memorized yet? God's kindness leads to repentance. Romans 2:4

Have a blessed Mother's Day! Today I left a note for the bus boy at our restaurant.  "God has a high calling and purpose for our life. He loves you." Much better than just a tip! God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4

Today I placed prayer cards in all the places I went. I hid them in books, magazines, and even clothes at a store. Left one in a tip jar when no one was looking (with some money).  God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2: 4

Today I left origami sticky notes around where I went. You can search and find ways to make them. I write scripture on them and left them around. This pad I found online has pre-printed folds to make ten designs. I thought this was good:

I took an entire  stack of post-its and wrote on them different notes. My goal is to leave all the pages in the pad different places I go during the next few days. I also left a few Pocket Testaments around. Today, I left the love of Jesus in a store, a restaurant, and a hospital. May God be glorified in simple kindness. God's kindness leads us to repentance. Today, I gave GoodSearch a try. It is a toolbar that earns revenue for charities as you search and shop. Why not give while you are doing something you do every day? God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4

Tonight, I hijacked our monthly women's Bible study (Shiloh). We had a time of prayer and singing. Then we dispersed into the neighborhood to leave the Father's Love Letter and daisies on cars, porches, and in the Kohl's and Starbucks parking lots. We then had coffee in Starbucks. It was lovely. I had also left some of my infamous sticky notes inside the community center where we meet. They were planted inside the coffee pot, the refrigerator, and the microwave. The next time someone goes to use an appliance there, they will see  "You are beautiful. God loves you." God's kindness leads us to repent ance . Romans 2:4

The Father's Love Letter video is one of my favorite things to share when I go and speak. It is also available as a printed copy. Today, I mailed a few anonymously to people. Some were sent to people I knew who might need to be reminded. Some were sent to people I looked up in the phone book that I have never met. You can print a one page version of the love letter .  Do it today. God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4

How many blogs do you read and never comment on? On many blogs, unlike mine, you can leave comments anonymously. That is what I did today. Read. Seek to see someone's heart and leave an edifying comment. What if you came alongside someone and reminded them of who they are in Christ?  Affirm someone of their ability in Christ today . God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4

Today I left notes. I left them on bathroom mirrors, inside bathroom stalls, and strategically placed around the camp we are at.  "You are beautiful." "God loves you." "You are a good mom." "You have a beautiful calling." God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2: 4

The Cherry family hit the Dollar Tree today and found some scented pineapple bubbles. What a fun thing to leave for someone. We are going to sneak them into the office here to cheer the staff (anonymously, of course)! God's kindness leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4
